Hank the Jam Man

Hank’s Jam was founded by Hank Doudeswell in 1993. An experienced chef, Hank started making his own Rich Orange Marmalade for breakfast customers in the inner city Sydney restaurant in which he was working. Other restaurants and cafés in the area also became customers as Hank by now was working on his marmalade making full time from his home kitchen. New varieties of marmalades were created and then jams were added to the offerings. From the outset Hank’s focus was on sourcing the highest quality fruit for his jams and if the quality fruit available was also organic then this was preferred.

Word spread quickly. Hank not only made these delicious jams himself but also delivered them to a number of Sydney cafés and restaurants where a growing legion of loyal customers were demanding them.

Hanks Jams now...

Although the ownership of Hanks Jam may have changed over the years, the quality and attention to detail has not. Our Jams are still made in the traditional way and our dedicated small team care about the products, what goes in them and what our customers think. New products like Chillijam and Onion Marmalade are now being produced to satisfy customer demands and now we have our own 45gram jars of selected jams.

 Hanks has always been about  exceptional quality and exceptional service. The purchase of new Filling and labelling equipment will enable us to keep up with demand and Hanks has now moved to a new Kitchen and modern distribution facility in Banks Meadow.

The Hanks company is quietly confident of making enough Jam, Marmalade and Chutney to keep all of our customers happy and with requests from Dubai, Singapore, Shanghai and Switzerland, who knows Hanks, could well be enjoyed in the best cafe's overseas as well as in Australia!
